Cartersville, Ga. – Patcraft, a leader in high-performance commercial flooring, has introduced its latest resilient collection, Create In Place. Inspired by original artwork, this colorful LVT collection features a range of complementary patterns that explore shape and color in the abstract. Available in 9”x 36” planks and 10 colorways, the three unique styles can be used to promote wayfinding - guiding transition and movement throughout the built environment.
For the Create In Place patterns, Patcraft product designer Amanda Hopkins set out to design a hard surface collection that was directly connected to original artwork. Using a variety of artistic techniques like hand-painted watercolor and block printing, Hopkins used different brush strokes, sizes and shapes to create each design, incorporating both hand-crafted and natural influences.
“After choosing the artwork that would serve as the base pattern for each style, we turned to the colorline as the next step in the product development process,” said Hopkins. “We were intentional in selecting dynamic shades for impact and creative spaces—connecting the patterns through color.”
Within the collection, IterateTM is an aggregate-inspired pattern with a terrazzo-like visual that was created by hand-painted watercolors, where each stone fleck was painted using a different brush size. ReachTM is a linear pattern created with a block-and-string printing method that is composited together in varying angles, highlighting the directionality of the visual. The small-scale texture pattern, EnergizeTM, was developed by layering block printed artwork and helps to tie the collection’s patterns together. The three styles feature visuals that can infuse energy into the built environment, while also coordinating and defining space.
An artistically curated collection, Create In Place represents an interplay of positive and negative
space. Featuring a 20 mil wear layer for superior durability, the 5mm product construction allows for installation alongside carpet without the need for transition, and an ExoGuard+® finish provides enhanced scratch and stain resistance. Create In Place is fully produced in the USA.
