(April 15, 2019) DULUTH, Minnesota — TKDA, an employee-owned provider of engineering, architecture and planning services, is pleased to announce Jody Anderson, AIA, LEED AP, has joined the firm’s Northland office. As a senior registered architect Anderson has been designing facilities for 23 years, including commercial/retail, education, health care, multifamily housing, civic/government, historic and hospitality spaces. She is known for her sustainable design strategies, including the careful use of daylighting to provide effective internal lighting, maximize visual comfort and reduce energy use.
Her recent projects include the design of a new Q-Care Clinic at Lake Superior College, development of schematic design options for administrative offices and classroom remodeling at the University of Minnesota-Duluth School of Medicine, a new classroom addition to the Hartley Nature Center and renovations at the Kenwood Village housing complex.
In work at her previous firm, she designed a new multibuilding headquarters campus in International Falls for the U.S. National Park Service. The project created identity for Voyageurs National Park and included energy-efficient design strategies for park administrative and maintenance facilities, which received LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Anderson also served as project architect on branding projects to promote business identity for her clients. For Members Cooperative Credit Union in Duluth, Aitkin, Sandstone and Cloquet, the use of bold branding colors and daylighting strategies were utilized to reinforce MCCU’s marketing vision. For the North Shore Federal Credit Union in Two Harbors, Duluth and Silver Bay, she focused on external and internal design elements that included local materials and references to North Shore history. Her other Duluth design projects include the Greysolon Plaza Building Renovations, Denfeld High School, Lincoln School Housing Development and engaging therapy play spaces at the Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood Learning Disorders.
Anderson holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Bachelor of Architecture, both from North Dakota State University.
